Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law prohibiting schoolchildren from using mobile phones in class. The relevant document was published on the official legal information portal.
The document amends the law on education and states that students can no longer use mobile phones during classes.
Exceptions to this rule include situations that threaten the life or health of schoolchildren and teachers and other emergency situations.
Students are also responsible for maintaining discipline in the classroom and the rules of conduct in the educational organization. It is clarified that the control over compliance with the rules of the internal procedure is carried out by teachers and school management.
The document comes into force from the day of its official publication.
